We aim to support each other in need, for example the sick, those in hospital, the bereaved, those with new babies. This support may be practical, with prayer, through listening or whatever is required given the circumstances. We have a visiting team who visit members of the church who are no longer able to get to church on a regular basis, and those in our community who would benefit.
If you know of anyone who would benefit, please let Christine Mechie, firstname.lastname@example.org, or the office know.
73 people are involved in the buddy system but there are many others keeping in contact with one another.
A team of volunteers is helping with things like shopping and collecting prescriptions. Some church members are making facemasks and these are being distributed as well as baking and soup, lots of acts of kindness and care.
Every Monday at 6.45pm the prayer group meets using Zoom. Requests for prayer are coming in via the sermon phone as well as by email. The monthly Prayer breakfast is going on with people praying at home on issues sent out the day before. Much of our pastoral care is covered by bible study groups (Home Groups) and most are now run virtually. These are a real comfort and blessing to so many people.
